I am an ambulatory wheelchair user (meaning I can walk and I only use my chair part-time) due to a spinal disorder. I used to be a full time wheelchair user, but my spine has greatly improved with treatment. I have no issue with walking or other physical tasks anymore, and I can even ice skate and run when I'm feeling good. However, I can still authentically portray disabled characters due to my previous lived experience and the fact that I still have my wheelchair and need it sporadically.
